Christmas Pause and Joy

It’s almost Christmas! I can’t wait!

Each night we light our Advent Candles, read a scripture, sing a song and pray. It’s one of my favorite parts of the season and the year. It’s like a pause button at a time I need it the most. I pray for moments to pause and just be during Advent. Moments to stop, listen to music, watch a favorite movie, take a walk, call a friend, or just sit still. May the lights around us from candles, Christmas Trees, and in windows remind us of God’s light that is always shining.

This has been a challenging week, but I keep holding on to memories of the beautiful story of Joy we experienced last Sunday. The retelling of the story of Jesus’s birth with actors is a tradition that dates to the Medieval Period. I appreciate all who helped create a joy-filled experience. Thank you for sharing a joy that continues to grow.

This coming Sunday is Christmas Eve. We will be having Advent Worship at 10am when we will light the candle of LOVE and talk about “A Mother’s Love” seen in Luke 1:26-38. At 5pm we will gather again to worship and celebrate the Christmas Story together in our flower-filled sanctuary. Both services are great opportunities to invite friends, neighbors, and family. Let us proclaim the Good News together!

Happy Advent,
