Sunday we will light the Advent Candle for Peace and read Luke 3:1-6 about John the Baptist. John prepared the way for Jesus, who in turn prepared the way for us. I wonder: how are we preparing our hearts for Jesus today?
Growing up there was a book in my childhood church titled “If Jesus Came to My House.” I don’t remember the whole story, but some images remain fresh in my mind. Would we recognize Jesus? If we knew Jesus was going to show up at our house at a specific time I wonder how we might prepare?
As we prepare for Christmas let us also prepare by sharing the love of God incarnate through our words and actions.
